Free video upload sites compared
Videos may not display correctly unless the latest Adobe/macromedia version of Flashplayer installed.Latest version available here
Free video hosts seem to be springing up everywhere. I decided to make a comparrison of a few by uploading a test "wmv" video and embedding below. The sites featured will typically host the video for an unlimited time period although there are restrictions on file sizes. Most of these sites are in the "Beta" stage of their development at the moment so results could quite easily change over the course of time. In most cases the video is uploaded directly to the video hosts server and then converted to flash format video. Some require a small upload programme to be installed (Videoegg and Revver fall in to this category.)
All videos were uploaded in August 2006 and scaled by myself to make direct comparrison easy.
This is a rough guide only and does not claim to offer technical comparisons.
Here are the video upload sites that make use of Adobes/ Macromedia Flash Video technology:
Videogoogle.com Flash
www.youtube.com Flash
www.eyespot.com Flash
www.jumpcut.com Flash
www.fliqz Flash
www.photobucket.com Flash
www.vimeo.com Flash - original upload clip can be downloaded!
